05 — Where it sells
Channel by channel
A snapshot of how the brand reaches buyers in the United States. Figures below are
directional observations drawn from public reporting and retail tracking, not audited
totals, and they move with the season.
- Grocery & mass retail
-
Broad national coverage. Bags appear in most large supermarket
chains and big-box retailers, generally in the premium coffee set rather than the
value aisle. Availability is the brand's strongest structural advantage over
specialty roasters.
- Amazon
-
A steady top-of-category presence. Whole-bean blends and multi-packs
regularly appear among the higher-ranked coffee listings, with Major Dickason's
Blend doing most of the work. Reviews skew toward repeat buyers rather than
first-timers.
- Direct website & subscription
-
The freshness channel. Roast-to-order shipping, flexible intervals
and larger bag sizes. It is a smaller share of volume than retail but carries the
highest satisfaction scores, because freshness is the thing buyers notice first.
- Cafés
-
Roughly 300 locations. Concentrated in California and the West,
with a smaller footprint elsewhere. The shops generate most of the brand's cultural
visibility and a meaningful share of first-time trial.
- Foodservice & office
-
A quieter volume driver. Bulk formats supplied to workplaces,
restaurants and hospitality accounts, where the dark roast's tolerance for holding
on a warmer matters more than subtlety.
Method note: channel descriptions combine publicly reported company information with
general retail and marketplace observations. Percentages and rankings shift month to
month and should be treated as a reading of position, not a precise measurement.
